# Case Studies

## What this page is

This is where we document the client engagements we’re most proud of—the problem a client walked in with, the work we did together, and the outcome they walked away with. The purpose is to give you a feel for the kinds of ventures we serve, the kinds of results we aim for, and the way we approach a new engagement.

## Who we are

We are Mi6 Agency, a marketing and venture development firm founded on **November 8, 2009** by Chris Herbert. We are a remote team that calls **Bruce and Grey Counties, Ontario** home, and we also keep a presence in **Oakville, Ontario**.

We work with entrepreneurs, small businesses, and growth-stage ventures across the lifecycle—start, grow, scale, and exit—and we frame our work around three commitments: **Empowerment, Support, and Freedom**.

## The kinds of ventures we serve

Across our engagements, the businesses we partner with tend to fall into a few recurring categories:

- **Entrepreneurs and small business owners** — our core audience, from solo founders to teams in growth mode.
- **Rural and small-town ventures** — including work in agriculture and through our **AREA 81 Rural Entrepreneurship Accelerator** program.
- **Technology firms and specialized consumer services** — including B2B tech and laser eye care centers.
- **Local tech and business communities** — most visibly through building and operating **Silicon Halton**, a regional tech community we helped grow to roughly **1,500 members** with hundreds of events.

## How we approach an engagement

Our methodology is consistent across the engagements below. Every project runs through the same four-step lens:

1. **Value creation, delivery, and capture.** We start from a business-model perspective—what value is being created, how it reaches the customer, and how the venture captures it.
2. **Outputs and outcomes.** We focus on venture-development activities *and* the goals they tie to, so the work is always traceable to a measurable result.
3. **Running Lean discipline.** Chris is a **Level 1 Leanstack Coach**, so we apply the Running Lean methodology—validated problem–solution fit, customer discovery, and metric-driven iteration.
4. **Marketing as a daily operating function.** We integrate marketing into how a business runs day-to-day, rather than treating it as a one-off campaign.

## Representative client outcomes

We have not published a full case-study library on our site. To respect client confidentiality and because every engagement is bespoke, detailed write-ups—with named clients, timeframes, before/after metrics, and the specific tactics we used—are shared directly during a discovery conversation.

The outcomes below are representative of the work we do, not a guarantee of any specific result.

### Growth-stage venture — acquisition track

- **The work:** Full venture development and go-to-market support for a growth-stage company.
- **The result:** Drove the business from **$15M to $40M**, culminating in a successful acquisition.

### Startup — go-to-market build

- **The work:** Took a startup to market from an early stage, including positioning and customer development.
- **The result:** The venture was acquired following the go-to-market build-out.

### Venture-capital mandate — exit prep

- **The work:** Prepared and promoted a portfolio venture for acquisition on behalf of a venture-capital partner.
- **The result:** The venture reached a successful exit under our repositioning.

### Community build — Silicon Halton

- **The work:** Stood up and operated a regional tech and entrepreneur community.
- **The result:** Grew the community to roughly **1,500 members** and ran hundreds of events.

### Performance-marketing engagement — representative metric range

- **The work:** A performance-marketing engagement delivered by a team member on our extended bench, focused on paid acquisition and conversion optimization.
- **The representative result range:** approximately **50% reduction in customer acquisition cost (CAC)**, approximately **18% increase in average order value (AOV)**, and approximately **30% growth in return on ad spend (ROAS)** across the optimization cycle.

> We treat these figures as representative of the work we do, not as a guarantee. Each engagement is scoped to the venture's stage, market, and starting baseline.

We do not maintain a public case-study library on our website. Detailed write-ups—with named clients, timeframes, before/after metrics, and the specific tactics we used—are shared on request during a discovery call.

If you are evaluating us for a project, the most useful next step is a 30-minute discovery conversation.
