About Us

Who we are

We are Mi6 Agency. We founded the agency in 2009 to help entrepreneurs and small ventures create, deliver, and capture value. Our core focus is venture development and helping founders free up time so they can concentrate on the parts of the business they love.

We operate as a remote team of entrepreneurs and venture-development experts and call Grey and Bruce Counties in Ontario our home and playground.

Our value proposition and philosophy

Our value proposition is designed specifically for entrepreneurs and is built around three pillars:

  • Empowerment — we equip you with decision frameworks and tools so you make progress without being consumed by day-to-day execution.
  • Support — we supply experienced operators and advisors to plug gaps in marketing, sales, and technology.
  • Freedom — our work aims to free your time and create durable value so you can focus on strategic priorities.

We separate output (what we do) from outcomes (the goals we set together). That means our work is structured to produce tangible, measurable results (leads, revenue, partnerships) rather than activity for activity’s sake.

How we partner with clients

We partner with entrepreneurs and small teams in three practical ways:

  1. Strategic leadership and venture design — we help shape the value proposition, business model, and route to market.
  2. Marketing, sales, and technology execution — we bring experienced practitioners to fill capability gaps and run programs that drive measurable results.
  3. Accelerator & ecosystem programs — we run programs (for example AREA 81) to help rural entrepreneurs and ventures scale with peer networks and coaching.

Typical engagement scopes include short strategic sprints (4–8 weeks), ongoing retainer partnerships for continuous growth work, and program-based participation for accelerator-style offerings.

Founder and core leadership

Chris Herbert leads our team. Chris has extensive experience as an entrepreneur, strategist, and content creator. He has helped startups reach acquisition, supported ventures to scale from tens of millions in revenue to successful exits, and founded local tech communities prior to focusing on AREA 81, our rural entrepreneurship accelerator program.

Chris is a Level 1 Leanstack Coach and publishes materials (including a 7-question series ebook) that support founders through funding and venture design.

What we deliver (examples)

  • Venture design and positioning: value proposition, go-to-market plan, and sales positioning.
  • Demand generation and marketing operations: content strategy, campaigns, PR support, and digital channels.
  • Sales enablement and pipeline development: playbooks, CRM alignment, and lead qualification.
  • Technology and product support: advising on product-market fit and lightweight engineering roadmaps where required.

We frame every engagement in terms of the outcomes you want to achieve (e.g., revenue targets, leads per month, partnerships) and the timeframe for achieving those outcomes.

Who we work with

We work with entrepreneurs, startups, and small-to-medium ventures that need experienced leadership and tactical support without hiring a full-time executive team.

We have collaborated with clients and peers across technology and enterprise services and engaged with local ecosystems through community-building initiatives.

Testimonials and social proof

We share client feedback and short testimonials on our site from people we've worked with. Those quotes summarize client views on our approach to marketing, execution, and community-building.
